Hi Tim -
I just wanted to express our family’s thanks to Waterford Recreation and Parks and the staff of the Oswegatchie
Playground program! My kids had a great summer. The staff were very attentive this year. The counselors knew
my sons by name by the end of the first day and greeted them each morning when they arrived. Every time I
dropped off or picked up - no matter the time - they were playing with the children. Jace did a great job leading
Oswegatchie’s program, and we already look forward to next summer!
As a parent, I have often lamented that children aren’t typically out in the neighborhood building independent
play skills anymore. Playground camp gave our kids the chance to socialize and have those independent, self-
directed play experiences. We are so grateful that Waterford offers such a wonderful neighborhood program for
our children!

lve been wanting to write to you for a couple weeks now about how fantastic the Oswegatchie playground staff was
this summer! My daughter is entering Kindergarten, so this was her first year doing playground, she is devastated it's
over, Initially, | was so nervous when | arrived and it seemed everyone was very young, but after the first day when my
daughter had the time of her life | was so pleased. The programming, the care, the connections they made with her
were exceptional.
Jase was a fantastic director, Remy made my daughter feel so welcome everyday that he was at our site! Elle, Katie,
Alex, and Gavin were also some of her most talked about and beloved counselors! Playground may seem insignificant to
some next to all the other amazing camps and programs park and rec offers but it was very valuable to us and we are
grateful for this awesome experience! They were amazing, great work with OSW playground hires this year!

Leary French Drain is now in a state where machines can access and finalize the end of the trench
around the hillside (right field) of Leary softball field.
CBYD is complete and the French drain will be installed in the park side of the parking lot at
Jordan Mill Park. Maintenance staff went in to control an erosion issue with mulch berms. The
material taken for the French drain in the parking lot will be used to repair any outstanding holes
or erosion.
Need to finalize post install and chicken wire for completion of Community Garden
Barry Farm eagle scout signage — project in development
Town Hall basketball court approved. Looking to bundle projects with WHS tennis or Leary Park
Working with the Gardiner Family Foundation on a pavilion structure at the Children’s
Playground. They have generously donated funds in the past and are willing to continue with the
appropriate projects.
Waterford Beach Park garage is in review of the exterior design phase with Planning and Zoning
Documents will be reviewed and submitted for the Pleasure Beach boardwalk project (RFP) to
start after beach season
Request will be sent to Jim Erricson and Haley Ward for putting together the plans for an access
walk and bathroom for Stenger Park — Dog Park.

Regular operations of mowing, trimming, mulching gardens, painting athletic fields and lining
ballfields, beach operations in full swing, etc.
Goshen Fireman Fair assistance
Garden management throughout the town (water, feed)
Plans for renovating the WHS baseball field this Fall - update
Little League North needs almost complete overhaul of infield and warning tracks again.
Irrigating and maintenance around Civic Triangle and pond
Lining fields at all locations and trying to assist youth sports groups
Watering schedule for gardens and plantings
Issues with the fountain at Vets War Park. Will look for repair and replacement options due to the
difficulty of performing repairs/coordination
Coordinating a memorial bench along the tree-line at WBP, new tree planted this spring by the
WHS transitional group.
BOE school openings — gardening, mowing, trimming, etc.
Summer concert install and breakdown weekly
Full trash runs, dog bag stocking, loose debris at athletic fields, etc.
