Waterford Historic Properties Commission
Minutes of Regular Meeting
The meeting was called to order 7:02 by John O’Neill, Chairman.

Public Comments: None
Minutes: Correction to Minutes of May 14,2024-Jonathan Mullen’s title is Director of Town
Planning. Motion made by J.Pezzolessi, seconded by Crotty accept the minutes of the
Regular Meeting of May 14,2024.
Voting in Favor: Unanimous
Waterford Historic Properties Updates: J. O’Neill noted he had no update on specs for Park
House chimney repair from G. Schneider, Director of Public Works.
Waterford Historical Society: No one present to update.
Nevins Cottage: J. Mullen, Director of Town Planning, gave an update that included the
installation of fence required for demolition work and a Certificate of Appropriateness from
this commission was discussed. Application was given to J. Mullen.
Eugene O’Neill Theater Center: J. O’Neill reported he had been on site, but did not get a
close look at roof repairs due to weather conditions.
Cemeteries: J. O’Neill applauded the work done by volunteers on behalf of Waterford’s
historic and abandoned cemeteries in getting flags installed for Memorial Day
observances.
J. O’Neill reported he still had not heard from G. Schneider regarding tree trimming in
Durfey Cemetery.
Demolition Notices: J. O’Neill noted that the last Demolition Notice he received contained
more specific language pertaining to the structure to be demolished. A letter to the RTM
Moderator to ask for a review of the Demolition Ordinance was discussed.

New: J. O’Neill presented information from Quaker Hilt resident Bigi Ebbin, passed to him
by former Town Historian Bob Nye, regarding the stone pillars at the entrance to Best View
Rd. Erected by the original developer these structures are on town property and in need of
repair. After discussion, it was recommended by the board to send a letter to the Director of
Public Works to ask him to look into potential repairs.
Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm.
