J. Lawrence was appointed to sit for KeaLushtet. 2. ELECTION OF OFFICERS MOTION: Motion made by K. Mullen-Kohl, seconded by J. Lawrence, to nominate G. Russo as Chair. G. Russo stated that he would prefer to be Vice-Chair. K. Mullen-Kohl withdrew the motion. MOTION: Motion made by G. Russo, seconded by K. Mullen-Kohl, to nominate M. Buscetto as Chair. VOTE: 4-0 MOTION: Motion made by M. Buscetto, seconded by K. Mullen-Kohl, to add a Vice-Chair position to the Commission, and to nominate G. Russo to that position. VOTE: 4-0 APPROVAL OF MINUTES — December 12, 2024 MOTION: Motion made by K. Mullen-Kohl, seconded by J. Lawrence to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2024 meeting with the correction that J. Lawrence was present, and also to change her name from Julie Greco to Julie Lawrence. VOTE: 4-0 UPDATE ON NEW AND EXISTING BUSINESSES J. Mullen stated that a new nail salon was proposed for the vacant building located at 36 Clark Lane, and also updated the Commission on the construction status of the BestWay gasoline station and convenience store at 118 Boston Post Road. Economic Development Commission November 14, 2024 p. 2 of 2 J. Mullen informed the Commission that he had been invited by the Women’s Business Development Council to attend an event at Positive Vibes Pilates located at 106 Boston Post Road. M. Buscetto and G. Russo requested that there be discussion with the First Selectman regarding using Cohanzie School as a business incubator space. OLD BUSINESS e Upcoming EDC Sponsored Events J. Mullen stated that the Women’s Business Development Council has indicated that they would be receptive to working with the Commission on sponsoring an event. ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Motion made by G. Russo, seconded by M. Buscetto, to adjourn the meeting at 5:13. VOTE: 4-0
