Cooperative Purchasing
The Department is requesting to use cooperative purchasing contracts to accomplish
several of our yearly maintenance and construction projects. These cooperative
purchasing contracts were bid by either the State of Connecticut (DAS) or the Capital
Region of Governments (CRCOG). Along with unit prices, the contracts include detailed
performance (both material and labor) standards and are only awarded after they have
been vetted for insurance, OSHA, CHRO and other statutory requirements. The
awarding agencies allow other municipalities to piggyback onto the contracts, saving
Waterford time and administrative costs compared to traditional independent bidding.
All the cooperative purchasing contracts have unit prices that are fixed for the length of
the contract. The contracts listed for maintenance will be used on an as-needed basis.
Public Works is requesting approval to use the contractors listed below for the length of
contract time.
