Adjournment: 4:53 PM MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio, VOTING IN FAVOR: 3-0 PASSED First Selectman Support Current Custodial Services Contract As First Selectman of the Town of Waterford, my highest priority is ensuring that our public buildings are clean, safe, and well-maintained for the residents, employees, and students who use them every day. After a thorough review of bids for custodial services, | have made the decision to award the contract to our current provider, Building One, despite a lower-cost bid being submitted by another vendor. This decision was not made lightly. While fiscal responsibility remains a central pillar of our town’s management, we must also recognize the value of consistency, performance, and trust when it comes to public service operations. Building One has built a strong, reliable track record in Waterford. Their team understands the unique needs of our municipal facilities, responds quickly and effectively to requests, and has proven themselves time and again through their professionalism, flexibility, and work ethic. Their familiarity with our buildings and staff saves time, reduces risk, and ensures a seamless level of care—qualities that don’t always come with the lowest bidder. In addition, the human relationships that have been built over the years~between custodians and teachers, public works staff, seniors at the community center, and so many others—are not only important, they're irreplaceable. These men and women are part of our community, and they take pride in serving it. Awarding this contract is not just about dollars and cents. It’s about honoring quality service, investing in a team that understands and respects the spaces they care for, and maintaining a standard of excellence the Town of Waterford deserves. Thank you for your continued support and trust in our shared commitment to a strong and well-run town. Rob Brule First Selectman Town of Waterford
