RE: Public Variance 4 Ridgewood Ave, Waterford, CT
| am writing to let you know | strongly oppose the variance for the above referenced property
being considered at the August 2"4 meeting.
!am very concerned about the development of this property as well as two other properties in
the neighborhood that are being listed for sale, as they are non-buildable lots in a
wetlands/marsh area and flood zone in Alewife Cove.
It is also disturbing to me that the Realtor representing at least two of these properties, (4
Ridgewood Ave, 2 Forest St, and 52 Shore Dr, Unit A), Cathy Gonyo, is also the Waterford
Zoning Board of Appeals Chairwoman.
The Town of Waterford should care to preserve these wetland areas, our very limited open
spaces, and protect the land, water, plants and animals in this scenic area. These areas are
home to ospreys, herons, egrets, cormorants, fox, and many more. The Town should encourage
the owners, or the town should acquire these properties, and donate these parcels to the
Waterford Land Trust.
