. waiver it will meet the need for the Town and School system to be managed afl one
single system, We would like to procure the following 2 digital signs in the total amount
of $76,832.00:
Waterford High School- $38,892.00

Re: Digital Sign replacement for High School and Clark Lane
Part of the Town / School safety project included replacing the digital Signs at Waterford High School and Clark
Lane Middle School, Both signs are past end of life are no longer repairable. The Clark Lane Sign has been
broken for multiple months and the High School sign, although currently functioning, was down for months
while the manufacturer pieced together used equipment to repair it.
The project originally had a 3" sign for the Quaker Hill green and was removed because it could be covered by
a grant through the Waterford Office of Emergency Management. The need far tha Town and School system
is to have all three signs be part of a single managed system, from the same manufacturer, so that safety alerts
and nofices can be distributed through a cloud-managed interface consistently. The twe school signs. will be
controlled just as they are now, through the Schoal system, but in emergencies, the Palice or Emergency
Management personnel can post priority level information.
The quotes provided from Sign Craft of Niantic, Connecticut, both use the sign structure, cabinet, and power of
the existing signs at those locations. The cost to replace the digital sign for the Clark Lane Middle Schoal
message board is $37,940, The cast to replace the digital sign for the Waterford High School message board
is $38,892.
On December 5" of 2023, the First Selectmen approved the recommendation by the Emergency Management
Director Steve Sinagra, that the bid for the Quaker Hill sign be awarded to Sign Craft of Niantic, Connecticut,
To ensure that the two signs be exactly the same manufacturer, model type, and part of the-same cloud
managed system as the Quaker Hill sign, would like te request a bid waiver for the replacement of these two
digital sign solutions for a total of $76,832 from funds appropriated in Capital Non-Recurring designated line
20560-57842 School Security.
{am requesting that this bid waiver be placed on the next available Board of Selectmen agenda.

Good Morning Rob,
After speaking with Justin Pezzolesi we are both interested in serving on the Historic Properties Commission.
T believe that with my experience as a builder of 40+ years and Justin’s expertise as a Yale University project
coordinator and all of their historic properties in New Haven, we would be credible contributors to the
commission. :
