1. Narrative 
 
     The combination of the volume of stormwater runoff from the project catchment area temporarily stored and infiltrated in  
     the stormwater infiltration trench adjacent to the west side of the courts and the portion of runoff that will flow over the  
     undisturbed wooded area at the toe of the embankment on the west side of the courts and temporarily pond in  
     depression areas and infiltrate into the ground meets the runoff volume and pollutant reduction (Standard 1) guidance of  
     the current Connecticut Stormwater Quality Manual.   
 
     The design runoff volume is the surface water runoff volume from the project catchment area generated from a 1.3-inch  
     depth rainfall event, or the required retention volume of 100% of the computed water quality volume as given in the  
     manual.   
 
     The contributing catchment area to the infiltration trench includes the tennis and pickleball court surfaces and a small lawn  
     area immediately adjacent to the south side of the courts. 
 
     Surface water runoff from less frequent, greater rainfall depth events will leave the 310-foot length swale along the west 
     side of the courts and flow over the existing vegetated and proposed vegetated cover embankment fill slopes. 
 
     Detention of stormwater runoff from these events to control post-construction rates of discharge is not required.  There are  
     no adjoining properties, inland wetlands, watercourses, waterbodies, or culverts or other hydraulic structures in the  
     downstream vicinity of the toe of the embankment.  Surface water runoff will flow over the undisturbed wooded area at the  
     toe of the embankment, temporarily pond in depression areas, and infiltrate into the ground.
