Cutting & Clearing of Vegetation in Designated Wetland Non-Encroachment Area
81 Miner Lane, Waterford, CT
Mr. Uzair:
An inspection of property located at 81 Miner Lane was conducted by this office on March 14, 2025. At
the time it was observed that the brush and tree clearing has been initiated at the site and that the clearing
has extended 15 — 20 feet into the designated wetland non-encroachment buffer area in the southeastern
portion of the site. The clearing is not in compliance with Permit #C-24-10.
In accordance with Special Condition #1 of Permit #C-24-10, “A wetland non-encroachment
boundary is designated on this property to provide a vegetated buffer adjacent to inland
wetland resources. No activity, including but not limited to filling, grading, clearing or
removal of vegetation shall be conducted within the wetland non-encroachment area without
specific authorization from the Conservation Commission.”
By this letter you are requested to:
1. Discontinue cutting / clearing of brush and undergrowth in the wetland non-encroachment area,
2. Remove cut brush piles from the wetland non-encroachment area and allow the vegetation to
re-establish,
3. Conduct and maintain all site work within the approved limits of disturbance in accordance with
Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Permit #C-24-10.
