Re: General Drainage System Maintenance and Emergency Repair Plan
Maureen, this memo is to inform you of work the Public Works Department performed on Gardiners Wood
Road. The roadway is in decline and during the winter months water overtops the road in a certain section.
There is also concerns for emergency reasons on this road when the roadway ices up. The road also has
numerous areas requiring repair of potholes. This work was performed with the interest of public safety.
The department had moved material to try to redirect water flow from over the roadway. Emergency
drainage swale work was performed to alleviate water backing up over the road. At present time the area still
has considerable flow and once the water recedes we plan on trying to implement drainage improvements
that were approved on Permit #C-19-02. Until we can get in to perform the improvements we will clean up
the area we disturbed in accordance with the general permit, and perform more work to address the drainage
issue.
