CALL TO ORDER AND APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES
Chair Friedman called the meeting to order at 6:35 PM and appointed Danielle McCarty to sit for
Michele Kripps. ni

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION: Motion made by Anne Darling seconded by Cathy Newlin to approve the minutes of
the January 13, 2020 Special meeting as written.
VOTE: 5-0
RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS
Application #ZBA-21-1 -Appeal of 132 Cross Road LLC, owners, Shipman’s Fire Equipment, Inc.,
(Christina LaPlante) applicant at 70 Foster Road, I-C zone. An application is submitted to
approve the location for dealer/repair license dated 03/03/2021.
PUBLIC HEARING
There was no Public Hearing held.
OLD BUSINESS
There was no Old Business.
NEW BUSINESS
Application #ZBA-21-1 -Appeal of 132 Cross Road LLC, owners, Shipman’s Fire Equipment, Inc.,
(Christina LaPlante) applicant at 70 Foster Road, I-C zone. An application is submitted to
approve the location for dealer/repair license dated 03/03/2021.
Applicant Christina LaPlante, Owner of Shipman’s Fire Equipment, Inc.; addressed the board,
requesting approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals to obtain a Certificate of Location at 70
Foster Road for a New Dealer/Repair License from the State of Connecticut. Fire trucks will be
serviced and sold but will not be displayed like a typical automobile dealership.
Discussion ensued.
MOTION: Motion made by Cathy Newlin and seconded by Anne Darling, to approve the
application as submitted.
Chairman Friedman asked if there was to be any more discussion regarding the application.
There being no further comments or questions the voting began.
VOTE: 5-0

MOTION: Motion made by Cathy Newlin and seconded by Anne Darling to adjourn the
meeting at 6:47 PM.
