I. Call to order:
Chairlady Sanders called the Waterford Senior Citizens
Commission Regular Meeting to order at 4:02 p.m.
I. Establish a Quorum: A quorum was established.
li. Public Comment: Helen Kwasniewski spoke regarding programming that she
would like to see at Senior Services.
lV. Approval of the meeting minutes of the Regular meeting of May 24, 2022.
Chairlady Sanders asked for additions, deletions, or corrections to the
minutes.
MOTION: Motion made by Dina Lopes, seconded by Anita Collins to accept
the meeting minutes as presented.

VII. Director/Assistant Director Report for June 2022, (see attached).
Highlights included Terry Wheeler, Assistant Director started on June 17.
91 Rent Rebate applications completed to date, 11 Energy assistance,
15 people attended the Turning 65 workshop.
MOTION:
Motion made by Kathleen McNamara, seconded by Joyce Value to approve the
in-series transfer of $1,800.as described in the In-Series transfer form.
VOTE:
7-0-1 (Jody Nazarchyk abstained)

Jody Nazachyk discussed Grab & Go and Food Drive
X. Other Business:
Anne Darling discussed the cost of fuel and its impact on Seniors.

Dina Lopes moved to adjourn the June 28, 2022 Regular Meeting of the
Waterford Senior Citizens Commission at 4:58 p.m., seconded by Anne
Darling.

Waterford Care Team Cases (formerly recognized as the “Hoarding Task Force” which includes
residents of all age groups)

Total # of Housing Assistance Cases for the Elderly / Disabled: 9 (D.G.)

Mental Health Services 1/1 Individual Counseling and Group: 12 (2 are home visits)
Programs and Projects in Planning
The Senior Picnic will take place on Wednesday at noon. We have a record number of seniors
attending. Also in attendance will be the former director and assistant director and staff (Sally,
“Hlen). The First Selectman and Chairwoman will make some special presentations, The Cactus
jack Foundation donated 150 bottles of water.
Obtaining ADA Coordinator- in process.
1 staff person and 1 volunteer will be trained in CHOICES in August.
Certifying a Qualified Food Handler: Obtained
Café ~ has a new name “Daybreak Café” and will launch in July.
Betty the building custodian is retiring and we will now have a new custodial service,
We continue to implement Charity Tracker
We continue to work on launching online registrations and payments
