Programs and Projects in Planning - Terry
Waterford Senior Services Programming
e September's Beach Day and Ocean House daytrips were well attended and feedback
was extremely positive.
e Halloween Luncheon: October 19: magician Pete Haddad, trivia game, catered by
Nanas Byrek of Waterford. We added nametags at the sign- in desk, which helped -
with making it more personalized for both staff and seniors
e Apple Cider and Cinnamon Sugar Donuts Social: 10/20. It was a fun opportunity for
Terry, Jen and our interns to mingle with the seniors. It provides the opportunity to
get to know them better, promote programs, answer questions, and listen to
suggestions. A free social is planned for each month. November- Pie and coffee,
December- Cookies, Cocoa and Carolers
e Daybreak Cafe’ lunch numbers have increased a little more than 400% since the
introduction of our Lunch and Learn series. We have had Ryan McNamara from
Recreation and Parks and Kathy Peterson from Fire Safety thus far..
¢ Open Doors, our memory loss program, began October 11, providing a much needed
service to our seniors with Alzheimer’s/memory loss. Jennifer Bracciale designs and
facilitates the program.
* Fitness Programs continue to be a big draw (14- 30 participants). A new dance class,
Gentle Dance Mix Tap/Jazz/Ballet with Kristin Burrows began October 19. We
expect it will continue to increase in popularity due to the positive feedback. 8
participants thus far.
* BINGO and Bunco (26) numbers remain high. Bingo (50+) Lunch (30+) is a popular
event preceding BINGO.
e Pickleball is trending in the nation, as well as in Waterford. We offer indoor
Pickleball Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays 11:45- 2:15 with high turnout. 20
participants. -
e The seniors are excited about a program they helped create Jolly Potluck- a senior
community potluck dinner, December 8.
