Adjournment 1|Page Public Protection & Safety Standing Committee of the Waterford RTM Public Hearing & Meeting Minutes Monday, October 7th, 2019 5:30PM Waterford Town Hall Public Hearing & Meeting Called to order at 5:35 PM by Chairperson Timothy Condon Roll Call Present: Timothy Condon, Mike Perkins, Elizabeth Sabilia, Michael Stankov, Richard Muckle Absent: Car! D’Amato, April Calrns Agenda Item 3- Public Hearing in regard to the amendments to the Waterford Cade of Ordinance, Chapter 3.12.160 - Tax Abatement for Volunteer Firefighters, increasing the benefit to the ‘state maximum. Public Comment Vinnie Ukleja of 81 Old Colchester Road Quaker Hill Thomas Dembek of 56 Goshen Road Gordon Beals of the Goshen Fire Police Motion made by Sabilia, second by Perkins to close the public hearing. Vote: Unanimous Agenda Item 4- To consider and act on whether to recommend ta the RTM amendments to the Waterford Code of Ordinances, Chapter3.12.160—Tax Abatement for Volunteer Firefighters, based on the outcome of the public hearing. Motion made by Perkins, second by Stankov to recommend to the RTM amendments to the Waterford Code of Ordinances, Chapter3.12.160 ~ Tax Abatement for Volunteer Firefighters. Discussion: Members spoke on the possible removal of Waterford Ambulance from the ordinance. However, after discussing the issue no motions were made to remove the ambulance service. Discussion was also held about how leased vehicles are taxed and how that interfaces with the ordinance. ; Vote: Unanimous Motion to adjourn by Sabilia, second by Muckle. Vote: Unanimous .
