MINUTES
HARBOR MANAGEMENT COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING-
Wednesday, June 1st, 2022
Present: Commissioners Jane Adams, Robert DeRosa, Fred Wise,
Greg Crocker (alternate), Robert Dutton, Jim Hamsher, and Harbor
Master, David Crocker
Absent: Philip Fine, Eva Bunnell, Joseph Buths Jr. (alternate) and
Deputy Harbor Master, Richard Miller
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm and quorum
established. Mr. G. Crocker will be voting in the absence of Mr.
Fine.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Approval of the minutes
Motion by Mr. DeRosa, seconded by Mr. Dutton to approve the
minutes of the April 6th, 2022 regular meeting, all in favor, motion
passed.
Harbor Masters Report -
Harbor Master’s boat has been cleaned and the exterior coated and
will be in the water soon.
He has been busy signing permits and answering inquiries.
Two (2) dinghies were tagged Sunday at the public boat launch;
owner’s were given 10 days to remove them.
The Waterford Town dock repairs are not completed.

Police Sgt. Mike Firmin with the Waterford Marine Patrol was
introduced.
Correspondence
a) The invoice from the Town of East Lyme for half of the winter
Harbor Master vessel storage fee of $1046.80 was presented for
approval. Motion by Mr. Dutton, seconded by Mr. Hamsher, all in
favor, motion passed.
b) The invoice from H.S Plaut for mooring removal from the fall
2021 for $75.00 was received. Motion by Mr. Dutton, seconded by
Mr. G Crocker, all in favor motion passed.
Applications- None
Old Business
There has been no resolution on the boundary issue in the Niantic
River.
New Business-
Ms. Adams announced that Amy Tinker, the Harbor Management
Recording Secretary
since 2017, was resigning effective June 30, 2022. It was with
gratitude and sadness that her resignation was accepted. Ms. Adams
introduced Karlin Bergeson who will be joining the Harbor
Management Commission as Recording Secretary later in the
month.
Public Input
Mr. John Hughes reported that he had filed a complaint with DEEP
regarding chicken wire fencing installed in high tide area on
property along the Niantic River.

Adjourn
There being no further business to come before the Commission,
and upon motion by Mr. DeRosa, seconded by Mr. Dutton, the
meeting was adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
