Harbor Management Commission - Minutes - 08/03/2022

MINUTES
HARBOR MANAGEMENT COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING-
Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022
Present: Commissioners Jane Adams, Robert Dutton, Jim Hamsher,
Joseph Buths Jr. (alternate) and Harbor Master, David Crocker
Absent: Eva Bunnell, Robert DeRosa, Fred Wise, Greg Crocker
(alternate) and Deputy Harbor Master Richard Miller
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm and quorum
established. Mr. Buths will be voting in the absence of Mr. DeRosa.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Approval of the minutes
Motion by Mr. Buths, seconded by Mr. Dutton to approve the
minutes of the June 1, 2022 regular meeting, all in favor, motion
passed.
Harbor Masters Report -
Harbor Master has tagged a mooring that was in the middle of
Keeney Channel for removal.
Certified letters were sent to mooring owners who had not yet
renewed their 2022 mooring permits.
Correspondence
Mike Theiler is looking into the engine block that was reported
being in the river near Mago Point; no report yet back on the

matter.
Applications- None
Old Business
There has been no resolution on the boundary issue in the Niantic
River.
New Business-
A. It was moved by Mr. Hamsher and seconded by Mr. Dutton to
elect Ms. Adams as Chair of the Harbor Management Commission
and Mr. Dutton as Secretary; all in favor, motion passed.
B. A public notice to be placed in The Day later in August that
informs readers that unpermitted moorings and derelict gear in the
Waterford Harbor would begin being tagged by the Harbor
Management Commission was discussed.

Adjourn
There being no further business to come before the Commission,
and upon motion by Mr. Hamsher, seconded by Mr. Dutton, the
meeting was adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
