1. CALL TO ORDER/APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES
A quorum was established. K. Marcks called the meeting to order at 5:02PM. E. Palmer was appointed
for I. Kuvalanka and G. Attanasio was appointed for S. Hughes
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - June 11,2020 meeting
MOTION: Motion made by K. Marcks, seconded by R. LaCombe to approve the minutes of the June
11, 2020 meeting.
VOTE: 5-0
3 COMMISSION PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES:
a. Town Website
Chair K. Marcks stated that this was Special Meeting of the Economic Development
Commission and as such the topics for discussion listed on the Agenda cannot be modified nor
any new business added to the Agenda. The topic for discussion will be establishing the bullet
points to be used in updating the “About” Section of the Town’s Homepage. Those issues
should be finalized in writing for the next meeting in order to present for updating the Website.
G. Attanasio stated that demographic data, town’s historical origins, identify and highlight
neighborhood centers and areas for development. Highlight transportation and other
infrastructure. Waterford’s role within the Southeast Connecticut region.
E. Palmer noted that there is already information on the Website but locating it is difficult and
felt that the information we have should also be organized in a manner that makes it much
easier to find. It should be updated and maintained.
K. Marcks stated that the webpage will be rebuilt and can be organized to be more as a
storyboard.
K. Marcks stated that he discussions with people at the Parks and Rec Department. K. Sullivan
at Park and Rec stated that she considered the summer concert series at Waterford Beach as an
asset. October Harvest Festival, Fireman’s Fairs, Christmas Tree Lighting and Community
Center and various recreational activities.
G. Attanasio mentioned to take a look into using social media to assist in establishing the points
of interest for the webpage.
E. Lusher questioned the purpose of the EDC in modifying the webpage. K. Marcks explained
the role of the EDC when it comes to the Website and its updates.
G. Attanasio stated that it is important to have the website ready to go and updated for when the
business community is ready to open up again.

b. 2020 EDC Calendar
K. Marcks stated that he did not get a chance to meet with Nancy Cowser. There is still the plan
to meet with the Commercial Relators in Waterford once there is the ability to meet safely.
4. TOWN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND PERMITTING STATUS
A. Piersall reviewed ongoing development projects with the Commission.
