CALL TO ORDER. Mr. Welch-Collins called the Special Meeting of May 5, 2021 via Zoom to order
at 5:11 p.m.
APPROVAL OF APRIL 7, 2021 MEETING MINUTES OF THE FLOOD AND EROSION CONTROL
BOARD.
MOTION (1): Ms, Renegar moved to approve the April 7, 2021 Regular Meeting Minutes
of the Flood and Erosion Control Board, as presented. Seconded by
Mr. Harran. (3-0) Unanimous.
Mr. Welch-Collins welcomed Jenny Koh! who is interested in filling the vacancy on our Board.
He asked Mr. Harran, who has been on the Board longer, to give Ms. Kohl information on what
this Board has worked on. Mr. Harran stated he joined this Board prior to retirement in order to
fill in some spare time. He informed her, he and Mr. Callahan cleaned up Jordon Cove. He added
many projects were difficult te accomplish. He stated he has learned much about the Town.
Mr. Welch-Collins added last year was very unusual. We met on the first Wednesday of each
month. We have reviewed plans. This Board answers to the Conservation Commission. We deal
with issues brought to us by the community. Sometimes we go out and take a look at their
concerns and make recommendations to the Conservation Commission. This Board is
appointed by the Board of Selectmen.
OLD BUSINESS
a. Flood Plan for Gardiners Wood Road. Mr. Welch-Collins reported he learned the Town is
working on how to deal with flooding at Gardiners Wood Road.
Mr. Harran stated he brought this matter up because flooding has occurred at Gardiners
Wood Road and thirty trees were removed from that area. He felt this would elevate the
flooding that has occurred in the past. Mr. Welch-Collins visited Gardiners Wood Road and
felt this is a large problem in that area. He will direct questions to Ms. Piersall and Ms.
Fitzgerald. Ms. Renegar plans to visit the area.
b. Vacancy Updates. Mr. Welch-Collins reported Jenny Kohl is potentially interested in filling
the vacancy on this Board.

NEW BUSINESS.
a. Annual Budget Update. Mr. Welch-Collins reported we presented the same budget as last
year. if there are any changes to it, he will update the Board.
PLANS REVIEW. Mr. Weich-Collins reported he did not receive any plans.
CORRESPONDENCE. No correspondence was received.
PAYMENT OF BILLS. There were no bills.
ADJOURNMENT.
MOTION (2): Mr. Harran moved to adjourn the Flood & Erosion Control! Board Special
Meeting of May 5, 2021, at 5:23 p.m. Seconded by Ms. Renegar. (3-0)
Unanimous.
