WATERFORD HISTORIC PROPERTIES COMMISSION Minutes of Regular Meeting - September 12, 2023 Pr] The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Chairman, John O’Neill. Present: Commission members, Patrick Crotty, Robert Nye, John O’Neill _ Debra Walters a og Also present, Nick Gauthier a N - 8 fe pan] Minutes: Motion by P. Crotty, seconded by R. Nye, to accept the minutes Ne Regula aa Meeting of July 11, 2023. nN ww 2 Voting in favor: Unanimous Public Comment: No comments Waterford Historic Properties: Regarding ongoing maintenance of properties - R. Nye reported meeting with Gary Schneider, Director of Public Works to suggest that they meet with Paul Coehle, Facilities Manager, to talk about and plan for the care of both the Jordan Park House and the Nevins Cottage. He also indicated a desire to have the town’s Hall of Records building placed on the National Historic Register. Waterford Historical Society Happenings: D. Walters reported on the society’s multiple summer events which took place on the green this season which included living history programs presented in collaboration with the Dirty Blue Shirts, a local living history cooperative. She also updated the commission on repair and restoration work, some scheduled and some completed, on the Society’s buildings. Eugene O’Neill Theater Center: J. O’Neill reported that no action has yet taken place regarding the work planned for the Mansion’s roof, gutters, and trim. Cemeteries: P. Crotty reported that he has worked with Jill Adams, Waterford Public Library, to schedule an informational/brainstorming gathering regarding a plan for caring for the town’s neglected cemeteries. The program, “Orphaned Cemeteries”, will take place on October 11, 2023, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Waterford Public Library. It will focus on 3 cemeteries: Dimmock, Harris, and Mullen Hill. Plan of Preservation, Conservation, and Development - Work on the plan continues. Other: No discussion. Adjournment: Motion by D. Walters, seconded by R.
