Waterford Flood & Erosion Contral Board Meeting
Minutes for July 7, 2021
Members Present: Baird Welch-Collins, George Harran, Jennifer Kohl, Chris Callahan
1. Meeting called to order at 7:04 pm by Baird Welch-Collins. Members selected a site
walk at Waterford Town Beach & Alewife Cove Channel.
2. Members viewed extensive work by Rec & Park. There is now a concrete sidewalk from
the parking lot to the bridge. The original walkway has been moved to higher ground to
reduce the flooding that would occur. Members observed a low tide at the Alewife Cove
Channel. The area of Ocean Beach at the beginning of the New London jetty continues
to erode behind the jetty on the out going tide. Due to thunder and rain predicted
shortly, site walk was concluded.
3. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.
