FLOOD & EROSION CONTROL BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 20, 2023 Present: Chris Callahan, Acting Chairman George Harran Craig Hart CALL TO ORDER. Acting Chairman Callahan called the Flood & Erosion Control Board Regular Meeting of November 20, 2023 to order at 7:05 p.m. APPROVAL MEETING MINUTES OF THE FLOOD AND EROSION CONTROL BOARD. MOTION (1): Mr. Harran moved to approve the August 21, 2023 Meeting Minutes of the Flood & Erosion Control Board, as presented. Seconded by Mr. Hart. Mr. Callahan abstained from voting. (2-0-1) Motion carried. 3. NEW BUSINESS. a. New Treasurer Needed. MOTION (2): Mr. Callahan moved to nominate Craig Hart as Treasurer of the Flood & Erosion Control Board. Seconded by Mr. Harran. A vote was taken and Mr. Hart was unanimously elected Treasurer of the Flood & Erosion Control Board. b. New Chairman Needed. MOTION (3): Mr. Hart moved to nominate Messrs. Callahan and Harran as Co-chairs of the Flood & Erosion Control Board. Seconded by Mr. Harran. A vote was taken and Messrs. Callahan and Harran were unanimously elected Co-chairs of the Flood and Erosion Control Board. c. 2024 Meeting Dates. The Commission plans to meet in 2024 on the following meeting dates at 7 p.m. at Waterford Town Hall: January 15, February 23, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18 and December 16. MOTION (4): Mr. Callahan moved to approve the above meeting dates. Seconded by Mr. Hart. (3-0) Unanimous. d. Annual Report. Mr. Callahan agreed to prepare the Flood & Erosion Control Board 2023 Annual Report. 4.OLD BUSINESS. There was no discussion of old business. 5. PLANS REVIEW. There were no plans for review. 6.CORRESPONDENCE. Mr. Callahan reported on four New London Day articles three regarding Alewife Cove and one on the Niantic Watershed. 7.PAYMENT OF BILLS. There were no new bills received. 8.ADJOURNMENT. MOTION (5): Mr. Callahan moved to adjourn the Flood & Erosion Control Board November 20, 2023 Regular Meeting at 7:15 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Harran.
