Board of Finance Wednesday, March 4, 2020 Budget Meeting Minutes Present: Absent: Elected: RTM: Staff: Mark Geer, John Sheehan, Kevin Petchark, Glenn Patterson. Chairman Ronald R. Brule, First Selectman Thomas Dembek, RTM Moderator 4 Roz Rubinstein, Gail Miller, Brian Flaherty, Ryan McNamara, Kerry Sullivafy3 Ant Nolan, Lisa Cappucio, Kathleen Pierce, Dani Gorman, Martin Zeldis, Joseptt: Mancini, Craig Powers, Donald Gray, Interim Finance Director, Abbas Danesh, Treasurer, Maryellen McConnell, Secretary. Establishment of a quorum and call to order: A quorum was established and a call to order was established at 7:00 pm, March 4, 2020. Public comment: no public comment Standing Motion: was made by Kevin Petchark and seconded by Glenn Patterson to tentatively approve the below budget requests for FY20/21. Vote: 4-0 Motion: Passed Library Budget: Motion by Kevin Petchark and seconded by Glenn Patterson to approve the Library budget request for FY20/21 in the total amount of $1,073,193. Vote: 4-0 Motion: Passed Ethics Commission Budget: Motion by Kevin Petchark and seconded by Glenn Patterson to approve the Ethics Commission budget request for FY20/21 in the total amount of $650. Vote: 4-0 Motion: Passed Board of Finance Budget Minutes — March 4, 2020 Page 2 7. Conservation of Health Budget: Motion by Bill Sheehan and seconded by Kevin Petchark to table the Conservation of Health budget to be determined by the First Selectman, as there was no one to answer questions. Vote: 4-0 Motion: Passed 8. Public Health & Nursing Budget: Motion by Kevin Petchark and seconded by Glenn Patterson to approve the Public Health and Nursing budget request for FY20/21 in the total amount of $27,820. Vote: 4-0 Motion: Passed 9. Miscellaneous Social Grants Budget: Motion by Kevin Petchark and seconded by Glenn Patterson to approve the Miscellaneous Social Grants budget request for FY20/21 in the total amount of $81,780, Vote: 4-0 Motion: Passed 10. Youth Services Budget: Motion by Kevin Petchark and seconded by Glenn Patterson to approve the Youth Services budget request for FY20/21 in the total amount of $244,743. Vote: 4-0 Motion: Passed First Selectman Robert Brule took a moment to thank Dani Gorman for being instrumental in starting a Vet’s Coffee House. They meet once or twice a month at Filomena’s and it is a great success. Thank you for your hard work! 11.
