1. CALL TO ORDER/APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES
E. Lusher seated C. Gonyo for G. Russo. A quorum was established and the meeting was
called to order at 5:07 pm.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - April 20, 2023 Special Meeting
MOTION: Motion made by G. Attanasio, seconded by C. Gonyo, to approve the
minutes of the April 20, 2023 Special Meeting.
VOTE: 3-0
3. REVIEW OF REMAINING SMALL BUSINESS GRANT APPLICATIONS AND AWARD
OF GRANTS:
M. Wujtewicz reminded the Commission that the three applications before them for review
included two that were tabled from the last meeting and one additional application that was
initially considered incomplete but had its status upgraded to complete and is ready for
review. The Commission then reviewed and discussed each of the following applications
individually:
Waterford Fitness and Training
The Commission reviewed this application. This application’s review was tabled from the
previous meeting and the applicant submitted additional material and documents as
requested by the Commission.
MOTION: Motion made by G. Attanasio and seconded by C. Gonyo to award the
applicants request for $10,000 to be used for Operational Expenses and
Capital Investment as described in the application.
VOTE: 3-0

The Commission reviewed this application. This application’s review was tabled from the
previous meeting and the applicant submitted additional material and documents as
requested by the Commission.
MOTION: Motion made by C. Gonyo and seconded by G. Attanasio to award the
applicants request for $9,608.28 to be used for Operating Expenses and
Capital Investments as described in the application.
VOTE: 3-0

The Commission reviewed this application.
MOTION: Motion made by C. Gonyo and seconded by E. Lusher to award the
applicants request for $2,956.73 to be used for Capital Investments as
described in the application.
VOTE: 3-0
4. UPDATE OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN
J. Mullen informed the Commission that he had provided to them, via email earlier in the day
copies of two sample RFQ’s from the Greenville Area Development Corporation in South
Carolina and from the City of North Olmsted, Ohio. The Commission can review these
examples in order to get an understanding as to how an RFQ for providing consulting services in
creating an Economic Development Strategy for Waterford may be structured.
M. Wujtewicz updated the Commission on the status of requesting quotes from marketing firms
to implement a marketing strategy for the Economic Development Commission. He stated that
he hasn’t heard back yet from two firms and that the Commission will be updated at the next
meeting.
5. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Motion made by E. Lusher and seconded by G. Attanasio to adjourn the
meeting at 5:38.
