FLOOD & EROSION CONTROL BOARD
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
October 21, 2024
Members

CALL TO ORDER. Co-Chair Callahan called the Flood & Erosion
Control Board Regular Meeting of October 21, 2024 to order at 7:00
p.m.
NEW BUSINESS.
Budget – Mr. Mullen reported the Fiscal Year 25-26 budget needs to
be submitted to the Finance Department by December 13, 2024.
MOTION (1): Mr. Hart moved to request staff to prepare this
Board’s Fiscal Year 25/26 Budget in the amount of $1,109.
Seconded by Mr. Harran. (4-0) Unanimous.
OLD BUSINESS

Alewife Cove – Mr. Mullen reported the Board of Finance has
released $37,500 from the Capital Budget for the Alewife Cove line
item. The next step is to have RTM appropriate $12,500 at it’s
December meeting. This will total $50,000 to match with New
London to pay the consultant’s work thus far.
2025 Meeting Dates. The Commission reviewed the 2025 proposed
meeting dates.
MOTION (2): Mr. Harran moved to approve the 2025 meeting
dates, as presented.
Seconded by Mr. Hart. (4-0) Unanimous.
PLANS REVIEW There were no new plans for review.
CORRESPONDENCE.
October 17, 2924 Year-to-Date Budget Report.
Article in the Day newspaper dated October 11, 2024 titled “Report
card: More work needed to improve L.I. Sound.”
PAYMENT OF BILLS. There were no new bills received.
APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 MEETING MINUTES OF THE
FLOOD AND EROSION CONTROL BOARD.
MOTION (3): Mr. Hart moved to approve the September 16, 2024
Meeting Minutes
of the Flood & Erosion Control Board, as presented. Seconded by
Mr. Harran. (4-0) Unanimous.

ADJOURNMENT.
MOTION (4): Mr. Hart moved to adjourn the Flood & Erosion
Control Board
October 21, 2024 Regular Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Seconded by
Mr. Harran. (4-0) Unanimous.
