1. CALL TO ORDER/APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES
A quorum was established. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - February 10, 2022 Meeting
MOTION: Motion made by E. Lusher, seconded by J. Szymanski, to approve the minutes of the
February 10, 2022 meeting.
VOTE: 4-0
3. COMMISSION PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES:
e Microgrants
A Piersall that she was informed the Waterford Business Startup Microgrant program was not
eligible for funding through the American Rescue Plan Program. She explained to the
Commission the reasons the ARPA funding was not available and that the Commission could
pursue the availability of other sources of funding.
e Small Business Grants
A Piersall informed the Commission that the opportunity to pursue the Small Business Grant
program is still active. She described a similar program administered by the Town of East
Windsor. The East Windsor Program utilizes the services of an Economic Development
Consultant and that model may be used in Waterford with the EDC voting to select award
recipients. She will use the East Windsor RFP as a model and update it with Waterford specifics.
She would like to send out RFPs for consultants by next week and hopefully receive proposals by
the next meeting.
G. Attanasio (5:15) seated for the vacant seat
It was the consensus of the Commission to direct A Piersall to send out the RFP within the next
couple of weeks.
e A Piersall informed the Commission of Raised Bill 5202 in the State Legislature regarding the
lifting of a ban on expansion of Nuclear Generating Facilities by utilizing small Nuclear
generators on the existing site of Millstone. Discussion ensued among the members and it was
decided to generate a letter of support from the Commission for the bill.
MOTION: _ J. Szymanski seconded by Gregg Attanasio for the Commission to produce a
position statement in support of Raised Bill 5202.

4. TOWN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND PERMITTING STATUS
M. Wujtewicz updated the Commission with the status of ongoing projects in Town.
35 UPDATE OF BUDGET HEARING STATUS
A Piersall informed the Commission that the EDC budget proposal had passed.
