Minutes — Special Meeting July 24, 2023
Members present: Kevin Girard (RTM), Mary Childs (RTM), Greg Attanasio (BOS), Ivan
Kuvalanka (elector), Ursula Moreshead (elector)
Members absent: Chris Jones (BoE), David Peabody (BOF)
1,, 2. Call to Order /Roll Call: With a quorum established, the meeting of the Energy Task
Force (ETF) was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Chair Kevin Girard.
3. Public Comments: there were no public comments
4. Approval of 5/30/23 meeting minutes: Motion by Childs, second by Attanasio to approve
the 5/30/2023 minutes as presented. Voice vote: motion passed
5. Review and discussion of stated charge: group discussed updates regarding our letter
shared with RTM and First Selectman Brule. The Planning Director has been asked to
consider the four specific items.
A committee member discussed the development of a town based utility company. This
would have to go through State leaders.
Members will research and develop informational ads or fliers to share with our
community as a part of an educational energy efficiency campaign for residents.
6. New Business: Group discussion on next steps: Group discussed the plan for our next
meeting and will invite the Planning Director to meet with us.
7. Adjournment: Motion made by Attanasio seconded by Kuvalanka, Vote unanimous. Meeting
adjourned at 8:08 pm
