1., 2. Call to Order/Roll Call: With a quorum established, the meeting of the Energy Task
Force (ETF) was called to order at 6:08 p.m. by Chair Kevin Girard.

approve the 9/14/2023 minutes as presented. Motion passed,
5. Review and discussion of stated charge: group discussed updates regarding our list of
potential charges. The Planning Department has submitted all required documents for the
energy benchmarking conducted by UCONN and asked for an update. At this point no
additional information is available. (This benchmarking includes all Town building energy
use for the past two years. Once the benchmark is complete, the Town would be able to
initiate a third party energy audit to identify and plan to address areas where conservation
or reduction is possible.)
A second topic was the placement of solar panels on school buildings. Chris Jones will
follow up and speak to the Board of Education regarding this..
6. New Business: Discussion regarding learning more about collection of food waste to
remove it from our disposal stream and potentially utilize it as a biofuel. We will extend an
invitation to a local town’s Public Works Director to see how it is working in their town.
The group would like to see what steps need to occur to potentially get electric vehicle
charging stations located at town buildings and/or schools.
7. Adjournment: Motion made by Girard and seconded by Attanasion, Vote unanimous.
Meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm
