CALL TO ORDER/APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES
Chairman E. Lusher called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. J. Greco was seated for J.
Nicholas.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - April 11, 2024
MOTION: Motion made by K. Mullen-Kohl, seconded by M. Buscetto to approve the
minutes of the April 11, 2024 meeting as written
VOTE: 4-0-1 (G. Russo abstained, not present at last meeting)
CRYSTAL MALL UPDATE
J. Mullen updated the Commission on the progress being made, and stated that he will
bring more information as it is received.
PRESENTATION BY SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT ENTERPRISE
REGION (seCTer)
R.T. Brown, Director of Economic Development Strategies and Business Services from
seCTer gave a presentation to the Commission. A discussion ensued regarding how
seCTer can provide assistance to the Town and local businesses in support of Economic
Development.
(J. Greco left the meeting at 5:30)
UPDATE ON NEW AND EXISTING BUSINESSES
M. Wujtewicz informed the Commission of a new application pending with the Planning
& Zoning Commission for a regulation amendment to allow cottage food operations as a
customary home occupation. He also updated the Commission on the following building
activity:

e Chipotle will be opening soon
e 118 Boston Post Road Gas Station/Convenience Store
e Bath & Body Works relocating from Crystal Mall to Waterford Commons
e New Nail Spa at Utopia Plaza
e New Fish Market at Jordan Brook Plaza
6. NEW BUSINESS
e Waterford Week Parade — J. Mullen informed the Commission on the upcoming
Waterford Week Parade and to consider participation.
e EDC Sponsored Open House — M. Buscetto stated that he will coordinate this.
G. Russo also expressed interest to assist M. Buscetto.
Ts OLD BUSINESS
e Gateway Signage — M. Buscetto reviewed with the Commission a photo of the
existing sign at the Jordan Green. It was the consensus of the Commission that
similar signage should be considered.
MOTION: Motion made by G. Russo, seconded by M. Buscetto, to place payment of
bills on the agenda.
VOTE: 4-0
MOTION: Motion made by K. Mullen-Kohl, seconded by M. Buscetto, to approve
payment of $221.00 for the annual membership to the Eastern CT
Chamber of Commerce.
VOTE: 4-0
8. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Motion made by K. Mullen-Kohl, seconded by M. Buscetto, to adjourn the
meeting at 6:09 pm.
