Adjournment: FIFTEEN ROPE FERRY ROAD WATERFORD, CT 06385-2886 DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM TO: Rob Brule, First Selectman FROM: Brian Flaherty, Recreation and Parks Director Abby Y. Piersall, AICP, Planning Director David Garside, Facilities Manager DATE: July 23, 2020 TITLE: Request to appropriate $150,000 from FY21 Capital and Non-Recurring Fund Designated Line 20537-57854 to line 20537-57781, for the Waterford Beach Park improvements project. The Town is actively working on a project to replace the bathrooms at the Waterford Beach Park and improve accessibility to the Waterford Beach. This request is to appropriate the $150,000 designated in the FY21 Capital and Non-Recurring Expenditure Fund. This appropriation will enable project completion, which includes the purchase of a second restroom unit for the park. Multiple Town Departments, including Recreation and Parks, DPW, Planning, Building Maintenance, and the Utility Commission are working together to ensure efficiency and minimize costs for the project. It is anticipated that savings achieved through self-performance of work will allow the project to ultimately be completed under budget. At this time, the full $150,00 is requested.
