MINUTES
Monday, February 5, 2024
4:00 PM
Waterford Town Hall
PROCEDURE: The Board of Selectmen will hear budget requests in accordance
with the below agenda for the Budget meeting, which begins at 4:00pm:
The Board of Selectmen to consider and act on the following budgets and at the
appropriate time forward to the Board of Finance for its consideration of and action
on the FY25 Budgets:
A. Call to Order & Roll Call: 4:00 pm
B. Pledge of Allegiance
C. Public Comment: NONE
D. Consider and act on the following budget requests:
Standing Motion: was made by Rich Muckle and seconded by Greg Attanasio to
tentatively approve the budget requests for FY25.
1. Recreation & Parks - To consider and act on the Recreation & Parks
_ tentative FY25 budget request in the amount of $1,485,080.
MOTION by Attanasio to increase line 51610 (Parks & Maintenance) by
$10,000. Motion Failed for lack of a second.
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to tentatively approve a total
budget request in the amount of $1,485,080. VOTE 3-0
2. Public Works - To consider and act on the Public Works tentative
FY25 budget request in the amount of $5,086,238.
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to tentatively approve a total
budget request in the amount of $5,086,238. VOTE 3-0
3. Fire Services - To consider and act on the Fire Services tentative FY25

budget request in the amount of $3,632,425.
MOTION by Muckle to reduce line 52374 (Cable Television) by $7500.
Motion Withdrawn, by Muckle, based on First Selectman’s comments.
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to tentatively approve a total
budget request in the amount of $3,632,425. VOTE 3-0
4, Building Maintenance - To consider and act on the Building
Maintenance tentative FY25 budget request in the amount of
$895,824,
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to tentatively approve a total
budget request in the amount of $895,824. VOTE 3-0
5. Building Department - To consider and act on the Building
Department tentative FY25 budget request in the amount of $326,532.
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to tentatively approve a total
budget request in the amount of $326,532. VOTE 3-0
6. Finance Department - To consider and act on the Building
Department tentative FY25 budget request in the amount of $767,856.
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to amend “the Building
Department” and change to “the Finance Department”.
VOTING IN FAVOR: 3-0 MOTION PASSED
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to accept amended motions,
VOTING IN FAVOR: 3-0, MOTION PASSED
MOTION by Muckle, seconded by Attanasio to tentatively approve a total
budget request in the amount of $767,856. VOTE 3-0
