Legal Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Sewer Use Rate Increase 
 
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 7-255 of the Connecticut General Statutes, the 
Waterford Utility Commission will hold a public hearing regarding a proposal to increase its sewer 
use charges for ALL classes of customers. 
 
A public hearing on these proposed increases will be held on Tuesday August 25 2026, at 6:00 pm in 
the Town Hall Auditorium, 15 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, Connecticut. Any customers, residents, 
and business owners are welcome to attend and comment on the proposed rate increases. 
 
Rate changes are subject to approval by the Representative Town Meeting.  The proposed quarterly 
rates to take effect on January 1, 2027, if approved, are as follows: 
Tier I 
 
Facility Service Charge = $43.20 per quarter per Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) 
 
Tier II 
 
Consumption (Based on water consumption) = $5.81 per hundred cubic feet (CCF) 
1 CCF = 100 cubic feet = 748 gallons 
 
 
Copies of the proposed charges are on file in the Waterford Town Clerk’s Office and in the office of 
the Waterford Utility Commission at 1000 Hartford Turnpike.

PROPOSED WATERFORD, CT SEWER RATES
are calculated on a 2 tier format.  
Tier 1 is a flat rate quarterly charge determined by the size of your water meter. 
Tier 2 is calculated by the volume of water as determined by your water meter.

All Individual Residential Units will be Charged 1 EDU($45 $43.20/qtr.) regardless of the 
size of the meter.
