My youngest of three is currently a senior at WHS and | have been a teacher here in Waterford for 25 years. | am writing to ask you to please reconsider the proposal to cut nearly a half million dollars to the BOE budget. Yes, | have a vested interest as a teacher in this district, but ! would like to point out that my perspective as a teacher is a valuable one. Teachers have a unique perspective on how this pandemic has affected the children and families of our town. We are in crisis. There is no other way to say it. Teachers are working harder than ever to adjust to a new type of learning and support students who are struggling in enormous ways right now, as you can imagine. We have no way of predicting the future and now more than ever we need to preserve personnel and programming. We need as much support as possible right now. | am a teacher. | am also a taxpayer. My husband lost his job when the pandemic began. | am cognizant of the financial strain on the many families who are struggling right now. Yet we need to pay our taxes to protect and preserve the necessary services to the children of our community. Thank you for your consideration, Cheryl Morosky
