Duck Pond Boardwalk and Bridges

This request is a continuation of an FY21 $50, 000 investment in the Civic Triangle. The Planning, Public Works, and Rec and Parks
Departments are partnering to secure professional services to design, permit, estimate costs, and assist with bidding the constrcution of
an accessible boardwalk, perimeter paths, and new accessible bridges at the duck pond. $150,00 is requested in FY22 to enable the
project to be bid and constructed in the summer and fall of 2021. This project stems from two previous planning efforts completed
between 2005 and 2014, The Waterford Civic Triangle Vision Master Plan and the Waterford Town Center Vision and Strategic Plan
both inlcuded recommendations for improvements to the Civic Triangle area. Both plans prioritized upgrading trails and services on
Town property. Accessible amenities at the duck pond are a key element in integrating services and activities in our Town Center. The
pond provides a focal point around which fesitvals, exhibils, farmers markets, and other activities can occur. Landscaping, lighting,
