1000 HARTFORD TURNPIKE WATERFORD, CT 06385 850 Hartford Turnpike PL-26-4 – Utility Review 3/5/2026 General comments • All easements shall be outlined and referenced on utility sheets • If pavement rehab is intended at Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse properties, it is recommended to have grease traps inspected prior to rehab work. • If commercial and/or industrial type discharges are possible, please describe the following: what the potential discharges may be, the source of those discharges, and intended methods of mitigating discharge into the sewer system. • Means and methods of notification for access to property for purposes of accessing utility easements shall be discussed between Utility Commission and Applicant as dictated by Easement Documents and emergency generator (vol.305 pg. 525 Section 1a & vol.305 pg. 527 Section 2f) for routine and emergency purposes Electrical The pump station receives electrical power from Crystal Mall. No separate service or meter is provided at the pump station. The existing pump station receives emergency power from Crystal Mall. The emergency generator is owned, operated and maintained by Crystal Mall. Underground electrical is present servicing the pumping station from main building. Suspected between 1500 and 2000 linear feet of direct buried 350 PPL or RHE wiring to a 480-v power switch at the station. • Due to the age of electrical service line and unknown condition status, the applicant shall replace Electrical line. • Due to primary power being sourced from the main building, emergency power is also sourced from main building. This shall be noted in design plan and discussions regarding power loss protocols shall be scheduled. • Auxiliary transfer switch shall be provided at the station for supplemental emergency power. • Formal acknowledgement is required stating understanding that the applicant will continue to provide normal and standby power and that 24/7 support will be available to ensure power continuity. L-206 • The driveway for the existing pumping station shall remain accessible and able to accommodate our vac truck at all times during construction and after construction is concluded. Proposed plantings extend into the pump station driveway. C-201 • Repair details and description for repair to Olive Garden sewer service needed including repair of broken brick invert (SMH:-4 on the plans) and the clearing of any blockage. o Re-inspection of service is required following repair C-203 • Grease trap for former food court shall be inspected and verified to be appropriately sized for intended use. • Interior plumbing to grease trap shall comply with the latest version of the CT FOG general permit. • Hydrant detail for backup supply hydrant replacement shall be included on detail sheets • Detail needed for extension of hydrant service for new hydrants C-204 • Buffalo Wild Wings has a grease trap. This grease trap shall be added to survey; it shall be inspected and verified for sizing. • Additional details needed for the intended repair/replacement plan for length of 10”PVC pipe between SMH: 11 and SMH: 12. Propose meeting to discuss options and requirements with Utility Commission staff. C-206 • Show pump station force main on plan CD-103 • Utility Commission details are required. Standard details and Specification Narrative will be shared with lead engineer.
