MINUTES BOARD OF SELECTMEN Regular Meeting December 21, 2021 5:00 P.M. Waterford Town Hall (APPLEBY ROOM) (Procedural Action: Check register to be signed by Board of Selectmen in accordance with CGS 7-83) Members Present: First Selectman Robert Brule, and Selectwoman Jody Nazarchyk. (Selectwoman Elizabeth Sabilia unable to attend) 1. Call to Order & Roll Call-First Selectman Brule called the meeting to order at 5:03pm 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Public Comment: N/A 4, Fire Services: To consider and act on the following request for the merging of two lines in the Capital Non-Recurring Designated, from the Director of Fire Services, Michael Howley to merge Line#20523-57792 to Line#20523-57733. MOTION by Nazarchyk, and seconded by Brule, VOTING IN FAVOR: unanimous VOTE:2-0 5. First Selectman-To consider and act on approving Waterford’s participation in the Janssen Settlement Agreement as proposed by the CT Attorney General and Connecticut Conference of Municipalities. MOTION by Nazarchyk, and seconded by Brule, VOTING IN FAVOR: unanimous VOTE:2-0 6. First Selectman-To consider and act on the following request for an additional appropriation from the First Selectman, Rob Brule, for Save the River-Save the Hills for the pump out boat, in the amount of $12,500. MOTION by Nazarchyk, and seconded by Brule, VOTING IN FAVOR: unanimous VOTE:2-0 7. Register of Voters: To consider and act on the following request for an Out of Series Transfer from Julie Watson Jones and Patti Waters, in the amount of $303. MOTION by Nazarchyk, and seconded by Brule, VOTING IN FAVOR: unanimous VOTE:2-0 8. Public Works: To consider and act on the following request for an additional appropriation from the Director of Public Works, Gary Schneider, for the Public Safety Building in the amount of $409,400. MOTION by Nazarchyk, and seconded by Brule, VOTING IN FAVOR: unanimous VOTE:2-0 9. Public Works: To consider and act on the following request for an additional appropriation from the Director of Public Works, Gary Schneider, for the evaluators at Town Hall and Youth & Family Services buildings in the amount of $250,000. MOTION by Nazarchyk to postpone motion #9 until the next Board of Selectmen meeting to review backup, and seconded by Brule, VOTING IN FAVOR: unanimous VOTE:2-0 11. Waterford Public Schools- To consider and act on the following request for appropriation from Capital and Non-Recurring designated in Line#20560-57822 IT Learning Boards, from the Director of Finance, Joseph Mancini in the amount of $170,000 MOTION by Nazarchyk, and seconded by Brule, VOTING IN FAVOR: unanimous VOTE:2-0 11. Appointments and Resignations: N/A 12. Correspondence: 12a. Letter from John R. Morgan in reference to Seaside 13. Old Business 14. New Business: 14a. Senator Formica sent a letter to DEEP to request an update in regards to Sea Side. 15. Consent Agenda 15a. Tax refund in the amount of 16,957.11-APPROVED 15b. Minutes December 7, 2021-APPROVED 16.
