In response to item number 6a “Proposed changes to the Waterford Code of
Ordinances Chapter 12.08 Concerning the possession and drinking of alcohol
beverages in town parks and recreation areas”.
If ALCOHOL is the “drawing card” for special events such as concerts, fundraisers
or festival that is so sad to dangle alcohol in front of people to attend these events
that are held on town property.
This is so wrong in many aspect. There will be families with KIDS attending. Is
this what we are teaching the young people drinking? What about driving drunk
after these events? Two (2) drinks is consider you are OVER the limits.
I feel that the police department is already being “social workers” on top of their
regular duties. Also if this is allowed it may open doors to other events like sport
events I for one do not want that to happen.
I am sure that the town does not want any lawsuit. Regardless if the town is in the
right Waterford will pay because Waterford has the “money”. So I urge you people
who have the power to ALL vote NO.
