I am supportive of the Town of Waterford’s purchase of the 8 Goshen Road property. When the “new” Great
Neck School, which ultimately opened in 2010, was in the design and planning stages, the hope was the
integration of 8 Goshen Road into the school property.
If the town ultimately approves the purchase of the property, it would certainly allow us to address on-going
traffic and parking challenges. Since the pandemic, we have seen a significant increase in the number of
students being dropped off and picked up often resulting in a line of cars, twice a day, spilling onto Goshen
Road and Great Neck Road. Additionally, when there are well-attended school events, people are parking on
the Great Neck Road shoulder and along Goshen.
The purchase of this property, with the proper planning and approval of the various town agencies, boards, and
commissions, will be a benefit to the Town and school district.
