Public Input for Monday August 7, 2023 RTM meeting August 6, 2023 To the Waterford Representative Town Meeting: The purpose of this letter is to express my interest in reappointment to the position of police commissioner on Waterford’s Board of Police Commission. | have served in this capacity since October of 2020. | appreciate and value the opportunity to sit on this commission and hope to continue my service. If reappointed | will continue to act objectively and fairly. My decisions will continue to be based on facts and | will continue to listen to and be open to the thoughts and ideas of the other police commissioners and the police chief and his support staff. Ultimately my voting record will be indicative of what | believe is in the best interest of the citizens of Waterford and the staff and personnel of the Waterford Police Department. My family and | have lived in town since 2009 and | have taught at Waterford High School since 1996. Furthermore, my teaching responsibilities at the high school include a course in Criminal Justice. | have taught this subject matter for over 25 years. In addition to serving as a teacher at the high school I have been the Social Studies department chairperson since 2000 and | have coached three sports including boys and girls cross country, wrestling, and boys and girls outdoor track. The town of Waterford has provided much to my family and | am vested in giving back to our exceptional community. Additionally, prior to becoming an educator | attended and graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden CT in 1993. | served as a full time police officer for approximately two years and then another three years as a part time officer. My background in law enforcement, coupled with my teaching experience along with my objective nature make me a qualified candidate for this important appointed town position. Thank you for-your consideration in my possible reappointment to Waterford’s Board of Police Commissioners.
