January 20, 2023 The purpose of this addendum is to provide information to Bidders. : : Bidders are advised as follows: 1., Question: According to the plumbing demo drawings, we will be cutting, removing, and replacing the floor slab in neighboring office 135 and corridor 133 on the first floor. There is no mention of the removing or replacement of the existing finish flooring or its * type. Please advise. Answer: /t is not anticipated that saw cutting in rooms 135 & 133 will be , required, the dashed “saw cut line” is approximate and to be field verified, refer to | response #2 for additional direction. 2.’ Question: It seems the slab cutting/removal/replacement and digging in the corridor on _ the first floor, as shown on the plumbing drawings, may be being performed just to ' remove a section of soon to be obsolete pipe. If that is the case could that section of pipe simply be abandoned to avoid a major disruption? Please advise. Answer: Yes, obsolete under slab piping can be abandoned in place to avoid ; major disruptions, abandoned pipe is to be capped and filled with concrete with no ‘ open ends. 3.! Question: Considering the smail amount of concrete floor patching involved, can the | requirement for ACI certification for the installers be waived? | i Answer: Yes. The larger ACI accredited companies are very unlikely to be interested in bidding on a project of this size. . 4. Question: The concrete specifications calls for the use of an MVRA additive such as Barrier One. Is this the correct intent? Answer: The MVRA concrete additive can be waived. 5. Question: What is the height from the first floor slab to the existing structure above? Answer: The ceiling heights are 8’-0”. It is believed that the ceiling is tight to the structure. 6. Question: What is the height from the second floor slab to the existing structure above? Answer: The ceiling heights are 8’-0”.
