Notice to Bidders
Bid#23-112 Removal of Fuel Oil Storage Tanks- Former Southwest School
January 19, 2023
The purpose of this addendum is to provide information to Bidders.
Bidders are advised as follows:
Question 1: Contract documents state the engineer is responsible for sampling and closure of the tanks,
please clarify who is responsible for future testing/characterization of contaminated materials if
encountered? As well as preparing and submitting information to disposal facility? Bid form asks for the
contractor to include characterization of material. Is Barton and Laguidice going to be responsible for
all sampling, and characterization?
Answer: Per Specification 02 61 13, the Engineer is responsible for collecting confirmation
samples from the side walls and bottom of the tank excavation and directing the Contractor if additional
controlled materials excavation is required, in accordance with the specifications.
Per Specification 02 61 15, the Contractor is responsible for collecting waste characterization samples
of excavated controlled materials to ensure proper management, transportation, and disposal. The
