Screening of "Those People" Followed by Discussion with Filmmakers*
Please join us for a screening of the powerful documentary THOSE PEOPLE - How a Talent Show Turned
Pain into Healing (2024, 70 mins., Not Rated). After the film, we will have a question and answer ses-
sion with the filmmakers, Director & Producer Peter Huoppi and Producer Curtis Goodwin.

How can a small city find its way forward after a devastating murder com-
mitted by a group of 'bored' teens fueled mistrust and racial divisions?
Those People chronicles the redemptive journey of a group of young peo-
ple who found hope, healing and community in performance. The creation
of The New London Talent Show, produced by an unlikely group of citi-
zens, proved that when you face your biases and come to-
gether with your talent, you will be surprised by the healing, intentional conversations,
and dreams that can arise. Registration is recommended for this event. In the event of
snow, this program will be rescheduled to Thursday, January 16. Free and open to the
public.

This program offered in partnership with Waterford RISE.
