The dedicated members of the Waterford Fire Department strive to 
 provide reliable emergency services, public education and  
awareness for all who live, work or visit Waterford.

Fireworks are often used to mark special events and holidays. The only 
safe way to view fireworks is to attend a professional show. It is important 
to know that fireworks are not safe in the hands of  consumers. Fireworks 
cause thousands of injuries each year.  More than 19,500 reported fires 
are started by fireworks annually. Sparklers account for roughly             
one-quarter of  emergency room injuries. 
Fire Pit Safety  
 Make sure fire pit is at 10 feet away 
from your house.  
 Never Leave a Fire Unattended  
 Never use gas or other flammable or 
combustible liquids 
 Check the Wind Conditions, heed no 
burn warnings and air quality alerts. 
 Be Ready to Extinguish the Flames.  
Grilling Season! 
Make safe outdoor cooking a priority. 
 Move grill away from siding,      
decking and other things that can 
catch fire. 
 Keep children & pets away from a 
hot grill. 
 Stay by your grill when cooking 
 Keep your grill clean from grease or 
fat buildup
