cash, checks made payable to Waterford Public 
Library, Inc., or donations online.

The library accepts donations of new and “like new” 
books, media and puzzles. To help us manage the 
process, we request that you bring no more than 
one box or bag per day. Donations can be left with a 
staff member at the Circulation Desk.

YOUR LIBRARY CARD 
Waterford Public Library shares an online catalog 
with the three Groton Libraries:  Bill Memorial, 
Groton Public, and Mystic & Noank. You can 
easily place holds on items in any of the four 
libraries, though each library does have its own 
policies in regards to categories of materials that 
they will send here vs. those which you need to 
pick up at their location. 
Your library card can also be used in any library 
throughout the state. Our Information Desk staff 
can assist you with interlibrary loans (ILL) to have 
items sent here from libraries other than our 
Groton partners. You also have the option to 
search the CT State Library’s findIT CT catalog (on 
our website under digital resources) to identify 
items on your own. However, at this time, all ILL 
requests must be placed with staff assistance. 
RENEWING MATERIALS 
 Library materials that are eligible for renewal, 
will be automatically renewed by the library's 
automated integrated library software. An email 
notice will be provided 3 days in advance of your 
due dates to advise if items will be renewed on 
your behalf. 
PROGRAMS & EVENTS 
Entertaining, informational and educational 
programs such as author talks, lectures, book 
clubs, and concerts. 
Storytimes, STEAM programs, and craft activities. 
Summer reading programs for adults, children & 
teens. 
Monthly virtual author talks featuring bestselling 
authors.

Passes circulate for 2 days. They are offered 
on a “first come, first served” basis. 
Overdue fines are charged on the following      
categories of materials: 
Red Hot Reads - 25¢ per day/ $5.00 max. 
Red Hot DVDs - 50¢  per day/ $5.00 max. 
Binoculars, Metal Detectors, Museum Passes, 
Ukuleles, and Hotspots -  $5.00 per day/ $25 max. 
 
All other materials are fine free.
