Town of Waterford Shellfish Commission Regular Meeting Minutes – Tuesday, February 4, 2025 7:00 p.m. – Waterford Town Hall 1. Establish a Quorum and Call the Meeting to Order Chairman Francolino called the regular meeting of the Waterford Shellfish Commission to order at 7:00 p.m. after establishing a quorum. Present were Commissioners Francolino, Porter and Jamroga. Absent were Commissioners Calkins, Drennen and Healy. 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Approval of the January 7, 2025, Meeting Minutes Motion made by Commissioner Jamroga, seconded by Commissioner Porter to approve the January 7, 2025, meeting minutes as filed. All in favor, motion carried. 4. Correspondence Chairman Francolino has been forwarding all correspondence he receives in between meetings to the Commission members to keep everyone as up to date as possible. 5. Treasurer’s Report Commissioner Porter reviewed the expenditures and revenue from the most recent report generated from the Town’s Finance Department through December 2024. Motion made by Commissioner Jamroga, seconded by Commissioner Francolino to approve the Treasurer’s Report as reviewed. All in favor, motion carried. 6. Monthly Monitoring and Sampling Report The recreational shell fishing areas are currently administratively closed pending satisfactory meat and water samples on the tentative re-opening date of April 1, 2025. 7. New Business a. Summary of 2025 Annual Shellfish Gathering Commissioner Porter plans to attend the Annual Shellfish Gathering and report back to the Commission at the next regularly scheduled meeting. 8. Old Business a. Update Regarding Progress to the Shellfish Resource Management Plan and Maps. The Commission has submitted the Shellfish Resource Management Plan and Maps to the First Selectman’s office and to the Town Attorney for review. b. Update from Treasurer Regarding Progress with the FY26 Budget Meetings for the Waterford Shellfish Commission. Commissioner Porter will continue to attend the budget meetings for the Waterford Shellfish Commission and report back to the Commission. The next meeting is scheduled for February 6th. 9. Public Comment Regarding Items Specifically Relating to Waterford Shellfish Business. 10.
