Waterford Senior Citizens Commission  
Regular Meeting Minutes 
Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 4:00pm  
 
Present: Joyce Vlaun (Chairperson), Dina Lopes (Vice-Chairperson), Rick Beany, Anita Collins, 
Susan Marelli  
 
Also Present: Dani Gorman, Human Services Administrator, Heidi McSwain, Human Services 
Coordinator, Terry Wheeler, Assistant Director Senior Services  
 
Absent: Anne Darling, Dan Rissi 
 
I. 
Call to Order: Joyce Vlaun called meeting to order at 4:10pm 
  
II. 
Establish a Quorum: Quorum was established  
 
 
III. 
Public comment: No public comment  
 
IV. 
Approval of minutes of the May 28, 2024 meeting: motion made by Dina Lopes to 
approve the minutes of the May 28, 2024 meeting.  
Motion passed 5-2-0 
 
V. 
Correspondence: Dani Gorman submitted correspondence from the Estate of 
Madeline Bernstein, discussion followed  
 
VI. 
Redefine Subcommittees & participation for each subcommittee: Discussion 
followed  
 
 
VII. 
Committee Reports:  
a. Budget Report: Dani Gorman reported that as end of fiscal year 
approached Senior Services had been fiscally responsible with spending.  
b. Nomination Committee: discussion followed  
c. Planned Giving Sub-committee: Terry Wheeler reported that a donation 
had come in to go towards pickleball program  
d. Transportation Sub-Committee: Transportation remains busy with 
majority of rides taken going to medical appointments  
 
VIII. 
Director/Assistant Director Report for June 2024: Dani Gorman reported that Senior 
Services was notified that it would be receiving the full amount of AARPA funds 
requested. Social Services cases continued to increase and with recent heat wave 
focused on making sure seniors were able to stay cool with cooling centers open. 
Gorman informed the commission that Heidi McSwain was in the middle of the 

Renters Rebate Program and Farmers Market Coupons Program. Gorman also stated 
that she, McSwain and Meaghan Lineburgh sat before a grant review for the Podiatry 
program requesting an increase in funds as program became more popular. Dani 
Gorman reported that there would be a Veteran’s Affairs program hosted at the 
community center on July 27th. Terry Wheeler gave the commission an overview of 
the programs within the new Loop Newsletter. Terry Wheeler also informed the 
commission of the preparations for the Senior Picnic hosted on June 26th.

Lopes. Motion passed
