Waterford Senior Citizens Commission  
Meeting  
Tuesday, January 28, 2025 4:00pm 
 
Present: Joyce Vlaun (Chairwoman), Rick Beaney, Anne Darling, Dina Lopes (Vice-Chair), Dan 
Rissi, Susan Marelli, Tom Kennedy 
 
Absent: Kent Ward 
 
Also Present: Dani Gorman (Human Services Administrator), Terry Wheeler (Assistant Director 
Senior Services), Heidi McSwain (Human Services Coordinator), Richard Muckle (Selectman 
Liaison)  
I. 
Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 4:00pm  
 
II. 
Establish a Quorum: Quorum was established  
 
 
III. 
Public Comment: None  
 
IV. 
Approval of the minutes of the December 3, 2024 Special Budget meeting: Dina Lopes 
made a motion to accept the minutes from the December 3, 2024 Special Budget 
meeting, Anne Darling seconded the motion. Motion passed (7-1-0) 
 
 
V. 
Correspondence: Thank you card from the family of Donna Payne was presented to 
the commission  
 
VI. 
Committee Reports:  
a. Budget: Budget hearing dates were given to commission members  
b. Nomination Committee: Commission members whose terms were coming up for 
reappointment were informed.  
c. Planned Giving Sub-Committee: Commission was updated on recipients of 
endowment funds.    
d. Transportation: Commission was informed that transportation remained busy.  
e. Polices Ad Hoc Committee: Anne Darling made a motion to accept the Waterford 
Senior Citizens Commission Guidelines with corrections made on January 28, 
2025. Tom Kennedy seconded the motion. Motion passed (7-1-0)   
 
VII. 
Director/Assistant Director Report: Commission is optimistic about Executive Order 
of the President.  
Dani Gorman that wellbeing referrals and checks remained high. Gorman also stated 
that department would be participating in Random Acts of Kindness month. Terry 
Wheeler reported that many programs were at capacity.  
 

VIII. 
New Business: Updates for the website were discussed  
 
IX. 
Adjournment: Tom Kennedy made a motion to adjure at 5:43pm. Motion was 
seconded by Susan Marelli  
Motion passed (7-1-0)
