Waterford Youth and Family Services Advisory Board Committee Meeting Wednesday, September 14, 2021 In Person Present: M. Buscetto III (Chairman), M. Cristofaro, D. Gorman (WYFSB Director), A. Gates Lamothe, E. McNamara, C. Muckle, K. Sullivan, M. Sylvestre Absent: R. Brule (First Selectman), B. Mahoney (Chief of Police), S. Cash, D. Concascia, M. Geer, A. Moger, J. Nazarchyk, G. Ryan, L. Sachatello, J. Smith, J. Trelli (WYFSB Program Coordinator), D. Valentine 1. Meeting was called to order at 5:00 and quorum was established 2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting: Minutes were approved by K. Sullivan and seconded by M. Sylvestre. 3. Correspondence: There were no correspondence 4. Directors Report: D. Gorman reported about a new positon being added to the department, the food bank remaining busy, and human services cases at record levels. She reported a new position was created to help provide relief with the demands for social services. 5. Program Report: D. Gorman reported that Camp DASH had a stellar camp season, and that camp staff were exceptional in leading camp and making camp a wonderful experience for campers and their families, with testimonials from parents. Scores from parents on Camp DASH did not score lower than 80%. D. Gorman also informed the board that Camp DASH made an efficacies on inclusion at all camp sites this summer stating that an outside contractor was on site for support of a camper and was very impressed with Camp DASH and the staff. 6. Student Report: D. Gorman informed the board that there are two new appointments waiting to join the Advisory Board, Jordan Dunkerly and Briana Smith, and that their appointments will be presented at the next Board of Selectman’s meeting. 7. Old Business: No old Business at this time 8. New Business: M. Buscetto informed the board that he was excited for the new position to start and how this will help WYFSB reach out to more of the community. M. Buscetto also stated that C. Muckle will be more involved at WYSB in volunteering, especially during the holiday season. M. Buscetto also congratulated K. Sullivan on her retirement after 45 years. 9.
