1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by M. Furey-Wagner at 5:00PM.
2. APPROVAL of the October 3, 2023 Meeting Minutes
Motion: Motion made by T. Santos, second by N. Sugrue to accept the minutes.
Vote: 5-0
3. UPDATE OF CIVIC TRIANGLE PROJECT — Stone wall location
J. Mullen provided cost saving details of Phase II. The sidewalk, revised stonewall and street trees
have been removed from the plan. Landscaping at the pond will be scaled back, the boardwalk will
be concrete instead of wood. Public Works will be doing the work on the access drive and curb cut
for the rec and park garage.
J. Mullen explained the stonewall will be rebuilt in the same location with the entrance to the park
located at the pedestrian crossing on Rope Ferry Road using existing materials to save on costs.
The pickle ball courts with perimeter fence remains the same. It is expected these will be constructed
in the spring. Removal of the fence, lights and scoreboard at the softball field will be paid for by
ARPA.
M. Furey-Wagner will attend the Planning and Zoning meeting on October 24 when the revised site
plan and 8-24 prepared by staff will be reviewed.
J. Mullen gave an update on the pond dredging. Due to 12.4” of rainfall in the month of September,
the dredging has been slow but is expected to be complete by early next week. The process of
refilling the pond should move quickly once the dredging is complete.
Motion: Made by C. Waggoner, second by N. Sugrue to approve the revised plan for CGS 8-24
Review by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
