1. Call to Order zs hy ;
Chairman Lawson called the Special Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. via Zoom after establishing a
quorum,

3. Roll Call
Logged in via Zoom were Commissioners Lawson, Francolino, Havens, Drennen and Calkins.
Absent from the meeting were Commissioners LeBelle and Malley.
4, Approval of the April 14, 2020 Special Zoom Meeting Minutes
Motion made by Commissioner Havens, seconded by Commissioner Drennen to approve the
April 14 meeting minutes as submitted. Discussion, none, voice vote, 5-0, all in favor and the
motion carried.
5. New Business
a. Discussion regarding restock in the recreational shell fishing areas;
Chairman Lawson stated he spoke with a supplier to secure product for possible restock in
August. He stated there are oysters available as well if the Commission would like them. He will
keep the Commission updated with the restock progress.
b. Discussion regarding permit sales to date;
Chairman Lawson stated he has collected the permits sold during the period of April 1, 2020 and
June 30, 2020 and there were a total of fifty five permits sold for a total of $1,588.70 in revenue.
He commended the Town Hall and Riverside Grocery for doing a great job selling the permits.
He stated this year there were more seasonal permit sales than daily or weekly.
lon Discussion regarding renewing the lease in the Thames River;
Chairman Lawson explained that the lease in the Thames River will expire in 2021 and he
conveyed that the leasee has indicated that he would like to renew the lease when it is up as he
has seeded the areas and has used it for the purpose that it was intended to date without issue.
He discussed the protocol for renewing the lease and asked for a vote from the Commission to
approve the renewal of the lease and to send the request for renewal to the Town Attorney and

other appropriate entities for review and approval, with the final approval of the lease extension
to go before the Board of Selectman for final approval before the tease is extended.
Motion made by Commissioner Francolino, seconded by Commissioner Drennen to approve the
lease extension and to authorize Chairman Lawson to move forward with the necessary steps to
get the lease in the Thames River extended by the year 2021 when it expires. Discussion;
Chairman Lawson stated the coordinates and the terms of the lease will not change so he does
not foresee a problem but would like to get the process moving, voice vote 5-0, motion carried.
Chairman Lawson stated he will keep the Commission updated with any progress he receives
regarding the lease extension.
6. Adjournment
Motion made by Commissioner Francolino, seconded by Commissioner Calkins to adjourn the
meeting at 3:12 p.m. Discussion, none, voice vote, 5-0, ail in favor, motion carried and the
meeting adjourned.
