Chairlady Sanders asked for a moment of silence in honor of the passing of Jody Nazarchyk,
Waterford Senior Citizens Commission member.

Call to order: Chairlady Sanders called the Waterford Senior Citizens Commission
Special Meeting of March 7, 2023 to order at 4:03 p.m.
Establish a Quorum: A quorum was established.
Public Comment: None:
Approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes of the January 24, 2023 meeting. Chairlady
Sanders asked for additions, deletions or corrections to the minutes.
MOTION: .° Motion made by Dan Rissi, seconded by Joyce Viaun to accept
Regular Meeting Minutes of January 24, 2023 as presented.
VOTE: 4-0-0
Correspondence
a. Letter to Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut — donation
b. Thank you from Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut
Endowment Fund — discussion during the Committee Reports
Committee Reports
a. Budget — Budget passed the Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance.
b. Nominating Committee — Daniel Rissi & Dina Lopes’ terms are up for reappointment in
April. Letters will be sent to the RTM expressing that both members be reappointed for
a three-year term. .
c. Transportation Sub-Committee — no report

d. Planned Giving Sub-Committee — Discussion regarding the Endowment Fund with
information on grants given this year and how to plan for the remainder of this fiscal
year.

MOTION: Motion made by Dan Rissi, seconded by Anita Collins to
request a transfer of $5,000 from the Community Foundation
of Eastern Connecticut to the Endowment Fund. We will
evaluate the requests and the fund balance monthly.
VOTE: 4-0-0
Vi.“ Director/Assistant Director Report for February.
Highlights included ARPA funds will be available to Senior Services, plans are being
formed about areas where these funds might be used. These will be presented to the
Commission at a later date. Dancing With the Stars will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023.
The newsletter for April, May and June will go out at the end of next week.
IX, New Business — Ideas about repurposing rooms in the Community Center and updates were
discussed. :

the Special Meeting of the Waterford Senior Citizens
Commission at 5:02 p.m. Motion passed.
